Content | FP 7 Cooperation Work Programme: Transport Page 141 of 146 Activities will address, in coordination with the evolution programme of the European Space Agency, the adaptation of existing space and ground assets to new mission requirements. They will equally address the development of new space and ground facilities. AREA: 7.4.4.3 International co-operation and awareness The objective is to ensure that the European GNSS services, applications and standards are known and can be used throughout the world. The activities will contribute to the cooperation schemes which have been established with partner countries worldwide. Activities will provide guidance and support to non-EU countries to set up regional and local facilities to adapt services to local needs and ensure that no unnecessary restriction to the use of the European GNSS is applied. Demonstrators and awareness generation activities are key elements. Expected outcome: Foster international cooperation and create a broad acceptance of Galileo/EGNOS in third countries Funding scheme: Collaborative Project (CP) Galileo.2008.4.3.2: Support to Education in GNSS The need to support Education in Europe in the GNSS area is considered as an important first step to improve the innovation chain. In this call the objective is to support the development and /or networking of GNSS Masters courses as well as to support those education programmes in what GNSS technologies have an important role. Expected outcome : Improvement of the situation of Education in Europe in particular secure relationships between universities and research institutes. Increase of dissemination activities on Galileo, EGNOS and GNSS applications, technology fundamentals and signal processing. Funding scheme: Collaborative Project (CP) Galileo.2008.4.3.3: Research and Innovation in GNSS Current assessment of the situation of industry in Europe indicate that support to Small but also Medium enterprises has to go beyond singles call . Moreover the improvement of links between SMEs and large companies as well as the support to Regional initiatives are key in improving the innovation scheme |
