Content	The question project manager Catherine Schock, GLP Associates had to answer was how to create a more upscale look at the Millie’s Restaurant in La Mirada, California, while maintaining the wholesome family dining atmosphere. Schock decided to replace the old recessed fluorescent lighting at the Millie’s location with a new track lighting system, using a single light source, because “it gave the space the bright, cheery look we wanted, both in the restaurant and attached retail space.” Fifty-watt Halogen-IR™PAR30 lamps were selected and mounted in both open ceiling track lighting, as well as on light tracks hidden above a wooden trellis in the dining area. The new lighting provided crisp, white light, plus increased energy efficiency. “This design was different but, everyone was pleased with the final result. The Halogen-IR™lamp offered the company operating as well as maintenance cost savings,” Schock said.
